Daniel 7 marks a shift to apocalyptic literature, using symbolic imagery to reveal truths about the cosmic battle between God and evil. The vision shows four beasts representing corrupt kingdoms (Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome) emerging from a chaotic sea. In contrast, the heavenly court reveals the Ancient of Days (God) and the Son of Man (Jesus) who receives an everlasting kingdom. Despite the disturbing little horn that persecutes believers, the ultimate message is hope - when God's court sits for judgment, evil powers are immediately ended and Christ's kingdom prevails.
